Carkeek Park Demonstration Garden

An acre of themed beds joined together by gravel paths, the Gardens border a meadow, coastal forest, and the Park’s six-mile trail system. A one-of-a-kind Seattle Park feature, the Gardens’ mission is to help home gardeners envision a backyard wildlife habitat by using natives and adapted non-natives in an informal landscape style. Visitors can see a wide variety of plants that thrive without fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides—protecting the Piper’s Creek Watershed and salmon habitat.

Park is open daily 6 am – 10 pm. Work parties every Tuesday from 9am-noon and every 4th Saturday of the month, also 9-noon.
